Ember Studios is the photography practice of Amber Winderix, a fine art and creative photographer based in Antwerp, Belgium. I specialise in weddings, family sessions, maternity and newborn photography, and fashion and editorial work. I've been working independently since early 2025 and I approach every project with care, calm, and a genuine love for images that feel real.
-
I'm based in Antwerp, Belgium. I'm available for sessions throughout Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, and the rest of Belgium. I'm also happy to travel internationally - if your wedding, shoot, or project takes us somewhere further afield, just get in touch and we'll work it out.
-
I work across several areas: wedding photography, family and maternity sessions, newborn photography, and fashion and editorial work. I also take on commercial and brand projects for local businesses, including hospitality photography for restaurants, bars, and hotels. If you're not sure whether your project fits, just ask - I'm always open to something new
-
Most sessions are just me - I find that a quieter, more intimate atmosphere leads to better photographs. For larger weddings or commercial projects that call for it, I can bring in a trusted second photographer or videographer. This is listed as an optional add-on for weddings.
Weddings
-
Yes - Antwerp is one of my favourite cities to work in. From intimate civil ceremonies at the Stadhuis to full celebrations across the city and the surrounding countryside, I know Antwerp's light, its streets, and its energy well. I photograph weddings throughout Belgium and am available to travel for destination weddings.
-
I offer three main wedding packages: a Half Day (up to 6 hours, from €1,650), a Full Day (up to 10 hours, from €2,350), and an Extended Day (12–14 hours, from €2,950). All packages include natural colour grading, a private online gallery with full-resolution downloads, and a preview within one week. Optional add-ons include a second photographer (€450), extra hours (€180/hour), and a fine art album (from €650).
-
For weddings, I recommend reaching out at least 6–12 months in advance, especially for summer dates (May–September) which fill quickly in Belgium. For family sessions, headshots, or shorter bookings, a few weeks' notice is usually enough. If your date is soon, it's always worth asking - I may still be available
-
You'll receive a sneak preview within one week of your wedding - a small selection of edited images to hold you over. Full delivery timelines depend on the package: Half Day within 4–6 weeks, Full Day within 6–8 weeks. Everything is delivered via a private online gallery with download access.
-
Absolutely. Intimate weddings and elopements are some of my favourite things to photograph! There's something very honest about a small celebration - all the emotion, none of the noise. The Half Day package works well for elopements, and I'm happy to create something custom if your plans are truly unique.
Family, maternity & newborn
-
A lifestyle session means no forced poses, no stiff 'everyone look at the camera' moments. We choose a location that feels like you - your home, a favourite park in Antwerp, somewhere with meaning - and I follow your family as you actually are together. The images feel natural, warm, and lived-in because they are
-
Most people find the sweet spot is between 30 and 36 weeks - the bump is beautifully round but you're still comfortable and mobile. That said, every pregnancy is different, and I'm flexible. We can do your session indoors or outdoors depending on your preference and the season.
-
Ideally within the first 5–14 days, when newborns are at their sleepiest and most settled. I recommend getting in touch during your pregnancy - around 28–32 weeks - so we can hold a tentative date and confirm once your little one arrives. Sessions are baby-led and completely unhurried.
Fashion, editorial & commercial
-
Yes - this is where my heart really lives. I work with designers, stylists, brands, and creative agencies on fashion editorials, lookbooks, campaign imagery, and creative portrait work. Antwerp's fashion scene is world-class and I love working within it. Every project is approached individually. Get in touch at hello@emberstudios.be to discuss your brief
-
Yes. I've built a portfolio of hospitality photography for restaurants and bars in Antwerp - food, interior, atmosphere, and team portraits. Good photography makes a real difference to how a venue is perceived online. If you're a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality business looking to refresh your visual content, I'd love to hear from you.
-
Yes. I work with local brands and small businesses on product and brand photography - the kind of images that work hard across your website, social media, and marketing materials. I'm available for one-off shoots as well as ongoing retainer arrangements.
Pracitcal & Booking
-
The easiest way is to send me a message at hello@emberstudios.be or use the contact form on this website. Tell me a little about what you have in mind - the type of shoot, your preferred date, and any questions you have. I respond personally to every enquiry and I'll guide you through everything from there.
-
Yes. To secure your date, I ask for a deposit at the time of booking. The amount and payment terms are outlined in your booking agreement, which I'll send over once we've confirmed the details together.
-
For outdoor sessions, if the weather genuinely isn't workable, we'll reschedule to a date that suits us both - no extra charge. Overcast days actually create beautiful, soft light for portraits, so unless it's raining heavily, we'll often go ahead as planned. I'll always be in touch beforehand if there's any doubt.
-
Yes, every image is edited by me personally. I don't outsource retouching. My editing style is natural and timeless - soft, film-influenced tones that hold up well over time and don't follow trends that date quickly. What you see in my portfolio is what you'll receive.
-
Yes. All delivered images come as full-resolution files that you're free to print for personal use. If you'd like a professionally printed album or prints curated by me, I offer fine art album design as an add-on for weddings, and I'm happy to discuss printed products for other sessions too.

I'm based in Antwerp and regularly work across Belgium - including Ghent, Brussels, Bruges, Leuven, and Knokke. Travel within Belgium is included or quoted at a low rate depending on distance. I'm also available for international projects.
