Hiro Izakaya

Hiro Izakaya is a contemporary restaurant and natural wine bar in Antwerp, known for its understated interior, seasonal menu, and effortlessly cool atmosphere.

For this series, I wanted the imagery to feel a little rough around the edges—in the best way. Less polished perfection, more texture, mood, and movement. The goal was to create visuals that felt as natural and characterful as the space itself.

Using direct flash, grain, and a documentary-inspired approach, I focused on capturing the small details that make Hiro what it is: shared plates, late-night conversations, glowing lights, and the feeling of being there.

The result is a collection of images that reflects the restaurant's identity while preserving the raw, lived-in energy that makes the experience memorable.
